Ghost

Live

BirchSeek delivers drafts through the Ghost Admin API, using a custom integration you create in Ghost admin and a short-lived signed token per request. Meta title, meta description and tags are set on the draft. Works with Ghost(Pro) and self-hosted Ghost 5 and up.

What BirchSeek does

  • Creates posts with status 'draft'; you publish from Ghost admin
  • Sends the article as HTML, which Ghost converts to its native editor format
  • Sets the slug, meta title, meta description, excerpt, and your chosen tag
  • Signs each request with a five-minute token derived from your Admin API key; the key never travels
  • Tests the connection with a read-only site call before delivery

Setup

  1. Create a custom integration

In Ghost admin, open Settings → Advanced → Integrations and click Add custom integration. Name it BirchSeek. Ghost generates a Content API key, an Admin API key, and an API URL. BirchSeek needs the Admin API key and the API URL.

On screen: The integration detail screen showing 'BirchSeek' with three values: Content API key, Admin API key (a long id:secret pair separated by a colon), and API URL.

  2. Connect in BirchSeek

Paste the Admin API URL and the Admin API key into the Ghost connector form, pick the default tag and status, then run the connection test before continuing.

On screen: The connector form with the API URL, the key field, and defaults for tag ('birchseek', editable) and status (draft).

  3. Check access

BirchSeek signs a short-lived Admin API token and reads the site's identity and version. The check validates the key without creating a post.

On screen: A successful result naming the connected Ghost site and version.

Deleting the integration in Ghost admin revokes access. The Admin API key is encrypted at rest and only used to mint five-minute tokens.
