Live
Medium is a syndication target, so BirchSeek publishes there only once the article is live on your own site and sends that URL as canonicalUrl. Read the first setup step before you plan around this connector: Medium no longer issues integration tokens.
What BirchSeek does
- Refuses to run without a live URL on your own site, and sends it as canonicalUrl - which Medium honours
- Creates the story as a draft by default; public and unlisted are the other options
- Posts into a Medium publication you contribute to, or onto your profile
- Resolves your Medium author id for you when you test the connection
- Tells you plainly, in the connector's own test result, that Medium's API is create-only
Setup
Check whether the account already holds a token
Medium stopped accepting new API integrations and issues no new integration tokens. Tokens created before that change still work, so this connector is usable only if your account already has one. If it does not, there is no way to obtain one and no workaround this connector can offer.
Connect in BirchSeek
Paste the integration token and choose a publish status - draft by default, or public or unlisted - and optionally a publication you contribute to. Your author id is resolved automatically.

Check access
BirchSeek reads your Medium user through the token and reports the account, its author id, and the create-only limitation. The check does not create a story.
On screen: A successful result naming the connected Medium account and flagging that the API is create-only.
Medium's API can create posts but cannot list or update them, so a deliberate refresh of an article already on Medium posts again rather than updating. Publish there as a draft, or leave Medium out of refresh schedules.
