BirchSeek creates draft posts over the official WordPress REST API, authenticated with an application password. There is no plugin to install.
What BirchSeek does
- Creates posts with status 'draft'; you publish from wp-admin
- Writes the title, rendered content, slug, and excerpt
- Resolves or creates your chosen categories and tags
- Tests credentials with a read-only call before the connector is used for delivery
- Never installs anything on your site
Setup
Check the requirements
Your site needs WordPress 5.6 or newer, served over HTTPS, with the REST API reachable (it is by default). The connecting user needs the Author role or above.
Generate an application password
In wp-admin, open Users → Profile and scroll to Application Passwords. Name it BirchSeek and click Add New Application Password. Copy the password immediately: WordPress shows it once. The spaces in it are cosmetic; paste it with or without them.

Connect in BirchSeek and check access
Enter your site URL, WordPress username, and application password. BirchSeek authenticates against the live REST API and reports whether the account can publish. The check does not create a post.
On screen: A successful credential result with the connected WordPress user and capability.
SEO plugin fields (Yoast, RankMath) are not writable over the REST API by default. BirchSeek writes the core fields; workarounds are in the setup guide below.
